CBD for Sore Muscles and Back Pain in Crown Point: A Local Guide

CBD for Sore Muscles and Back Pain in Crown Point: A Local Guide - CBD education article by CJ's Medicine Cabinet

If you live in Crown Point and you are looking for CBD for a sore back, stiff knees or muscles that are slow to recover, this guide is for you. It covers what CBD is, how people use it, how to pick a strength, and where to see and buy it in person at 701 N. Indiana Ave.

Topical or oil: start with where it hurts

Most people who come in asking about CBD for pain are really asking one of two questions.

"It is one spot." A lower back after a long shift, a shoulder, a knee, hands that ache after a day of work. For one spot, most people start with a topical, a cream or balm you rub into that area. Your skin and the tissue under it carry CB2 receptors, part of your endocannabinoid system, and research suggests topical CBD may support comfort right where you apply it. A topical stays local, so it is also the easiest place to start if you have never tried CBD.

"It is everywhere, or it is keeping me up." For general soreness, a whole body feeling after a hard week, or discomfort that gets in the way of sleep, people usually reach for an oil (tincture) taken under the tongue. It works through your whole system instead of one spot, and it takes longer to feel: usually 30 to 90 minutes.

Plenty of customers use both: a tincture in the evening and a cream on the one spot that always complains.

How to choose a strength

The number on a jar or bottle is the total CBD in the whole container, not per serving. A 4000mg cream is not "four times as strong" per rub as a 1000mg cream in the way most people expect. It means more CBD in every scoop, so you use less per application and the jar lasts longer.

  • New to CBD, or one small area: 1000mg topical. Low cost, easy to try.
  • Daily use, bigger areas like the back or both knees: 3600mg to 4000mg topical.
  • All over soreness or sleep: 3500mg full spectrum oil, starting with half a dropper.

Start low, give it a week of consistent use, then adjust. That is the single most useful thing we tell people at the counter.

Menthol or no menthol

Some creams add menthol and camphor for an immediate cooling feel, the same feel as a sports rub. Others skip it so you can use them in the morning, at work, or before bed without the smell. If you like the cold tingle after a workout, pick the Intense Relief cream. If you want something you can wear all day, pick the 4000mg cream or a balm stick.

Full spectrum and drug tests

Full spectrum products contain the whole range of hemp compounds, including a small amount of THC. That is not enough to feel, but it can show up on a drug test. If you are tested at work, ask us for a broad spectrum product instead, where the THC has been removed to non detectable levels.
